Hannah DeMers named MAC Gymnast of the Week
Central Michigan junior Hannah DeMers has been named Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week. This marks her second time receiving the award on the season and the sixth time in her career at Central.
The announcement was made following CMU’s most recent meet in Lexington, KY, where DeMers turned in an impressive performance to the tune of a 39.350-point all-around score. This mark was only 0.05 points lower than her season-high all-around score of 39.400.
DeMers’ impressive all-around score is largely thanks to her performance in the vault exercise, where she managed to tie a season-high mark of 9.850 and earned a third-place finish in the event.
CMU gymnastics will return to action at 7 p.m. Friday, as it heads back home to face conference rival Western Michigan, along with Michigan State in McGuirk Arena.
