A 4-25 season filled with unexpected transfers suddenly placed Central Michigan women’s basketball in a rebuild.

For junior guard Molly Davis, there were two choices: Stay through the rebuild or look for a better opportunity in the transfer portal. On March 30, Davis announced her intentions to transfer.

As fans of the Chippewas waited with bated breath for news of Davis’ next move, nothing came.

Then on April 28, Davis posted a picture on Twitter in a black Nike uniform with yellow numbers, announcing her commitment to the University of Iowa.

In three seasons at CMU, Davis sits 12th all-time at CMU for points scored with 1,438 and eighth all-time for 3-pointers made at 188. She has two years of eligibility remaining.

Davis missed five games due to injury in 2021 while averaging 18.4 points and earning Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference honors.

The Hawkeyes were the Big Ten tournament champions in 2022. In addition to Davis, Head Coach Jan Jensen’s squad will feature Monika Czinano, Caitlin Clark and Megan Gustafson.
