Five CMU softball players named to MAC All-Conference teams

Central Michigan University softball had five players named to All Mid-American Conference teams on Wednesday. 

Junior pitcher Grace Lehto was the only Chippewa named to the All-MAC first team. Lehto has struck out 188 batters this season for CMU and recorded a no-hitter against conference opponent Bowling Green on April 26.  

Four Chippewas were named to the All-MAC second team. Senior outfielder Kelsey Alexander; redshirt senior catcher Samantha Mills; junior outfielder Abbey Tolmie; and junior outfielder Michaleigh Vallimont all received the honor. 

Alexander has 33 RBIs this season for Central Michigan and Vallimont is right behind her with 29 RBIs. 

Mills has 270 put outs in the season and Tolmie has the highest batting average on the team with .383% and a recorded 70 hits. 

The honors were announced one day before the start of the MAC softball tournament. The Chippewas will take to the diamond at 1 p.m. Thursday in Oxford, Ohio, against the Ohio Bobcats.
