After a road loss to Marquette, Central Michigan men's basketball was looking to get back into the win column. As the squad traveled back to Mount Pleasant to take on in-state division three opponent Adrian College.

The momentum of a dominant 112-67 victory over the Bulldogs boosted the team's record to 3-4 before the squad's next road contest with Loyola-Chicago.

While the momentum of the previous game carried into the first half, Loyola-Chicago proved to be relentless, and the Chippewas fell to the Ramblers 83-72.

CMU now sits at 3-5 on the season.

Adrian (11/25)

Central Michigan came out of the gates fast against Adrian, ensuring that the game would never be in doubt as the Chippewas shot 63.4% from the field in the first half, despite going one of 10 from beyond the arc.

CMU dominated the paint in the opening half, setting the tone for the rest of the game. The Chippewas out-rebounded the Bulldogs 25-16 in the first 20 minutes, while also tallying three blocks to Adrian's zero.

Notably, the squad from Mount Pleasant looked more cohesive offensively, as the turnover bug that plagued the team improved as the ball movement seemed to click a little better following the game against Marquette.

The Chippewas led the Bulldogs 59-35 in the first half, with 50 of the team's points coming in the paint.

CMU refused to step on the brakes coming out of halftime, pulling away as the offense shot 18 of 28 in what became a convincing 112-67 victory.

The offense was a team effort, with seven players scoring double-digit points in a game that saw 11 different players receive minutes.

Rodney Johnson Jr. led the team in scoring with 18 points, going nine of 11 from the field with his only two misses coming from three.

Tamario Adley stood out as the Chippewas' primary facilitator, finishing with 14 points, seven assists and eight rebounds.

Loyola-Chicago

Following the game against Adrian, it seemed that the squad from Mount Pleasant had found its stride, and the team took that momentum into the first half of its game against Loyola-Chicago.

Central Michigan's offense dominated the first half, shooting 62.5% from the field and 55.5% from three.

CMU held a slight edge in the paint once again in the first half, grabbing 17 rebounds to the Rambler's 13.

The defense looked strong in the first half, but personal fouls became an issue, allowing the Ramblers to take 12 shots from the free-throw line in the first half.

The Chippewas took a 39-31 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Loyola-Chicago found its offense on the backs of guard Justin Moore and center Rubin Miles as the pair scored 21 and 16 points, respectively.

The Ramblers dominated the boards in the second half, hauling in 21 rebounds to just 10 from CMU.

Loyola-Chicago continued getting its players to the charity stripe, shooting 21 free throws in the second half, sinking 15.

CMU had no answer for the Rambler offense, allowing Loyola-Chicago to score 52 in the second half en route to an 83-72 loss.

Johnson Jr. once again led Central Michigan in scoring with 21 points while also hauling in six rebounds.

CMU men's basketball remains on the road to take on Saint Louis on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m.
