Central Michigan University put out an announcement stating that the suspect posting comments with threats is banned from campus and will be arrested if they return.
"Law enforcement and others have been in touch with the individual, and there is no immediate threat to our campus community," the statement said.
The statement said the investigation is still ongoing and will be referred to the Isabella County Prosecutor's Office.
On Tuesday, April 13, an individual made numerous comments on both Central Michigan University’s and Central Michigan Life’s social media, leaving some students concerned about campus safety.
"Those fears and concerns are understandable, and we should have addressed them more appropriately," the university said. "We learned a great deal from this incident, and we are revising our communications protocols so we can respond more effectively in the future."
The university said university leaders will be discussing how incidents should be assessed in the future.
