Volleyball VS Green Bay

The Central Michigan volleyball team fell to Green Bay 2-3, Saturday, Sept. 14, in McGuirk Arena. Senior Krystina Kasson had a career-high 21 kills during the game.

The Central Michigan Field Hockey Team lost in overtime against the Colgate Raiders on Friday, Sept. 13, at Cristy Freese Field. Mallory Camryn scored her fourth goal of the season, now leading the MAC in both goals and shots on goal.

Painting in Powers

Central Michigan University Program Board hosts Painting in Powers event on Thursday, Sept. 12, in Powers room 136. It was an evening full of watercolors and meeting new people. Attendees were provided with a variety of art materials, giving them the opportunity to explore their creativity and imagination.

First Gen Mixer

The First Gen Mixer was held Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the NIRSA Room in the Student Activity Center. This event was aimed at first-generation college students and parents. Guests had the opportunity to learn more about the support systems offered by the college.

Soccer vs. UW-Green Bay

Central Michigan's women's soccer team lost to University of Wisconsin-Green Bay 1-0 Sunday, Sept. 8 in the CMU Soccer Complex. Redshirt senior goalkeeper Allison LaPoint made eight saves for the Chippewas and graduate student midfielder Claudia Muessig led the team with four shots. The loss brings the team's overall record to 1-4-1.

Football vs. Central Connecticut Feature

GALLERY: The Central Michigan Chippewas defeated Central Connecticut 66-10 in the season opener Thursday, Aug. 29 in Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The game marked the first time the two teams faced off and the first time in four years the Chippewas opened the season at home.

MainStage 2024

MainStage drew hundreds of students on Sunday, Aug. 25 on Franklin Street between Preston and Bellows. The annual event showcases the over 300 Registered Student Organizations at Central and encourages students to get involved.

Soccer vs Cincinnati

The Central Michigan Soccer Team defeated the Cincinnati Soccer Team 2-1, Sunday, Aug. 25 in the CMU Soccer Complex. CMU senior midfielder Jocelin Zimmerer and CMU sophomore defender Caitlin Gill scored one goal each.

Leadership Safari 2024

Central Michigan University hosts its 28th annual Leadership Safari Aug. 21 through 23. More than 1,000 new college students attended the Traditions event Thursday evening at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Leadership Safari is a three-day event where new students become familiar with campus living and build relationships. 2024 Marching Chips drum major, color guard and drum line camp

More than 100 high school marching band leaders from across Michigan visited Central Michigan University July 5 through 12 for the 2024 Marching Chips drum major, color guard and drum line camp. The week-long camp had students working alongside professional musicians, musical educators and current members of the CMU marching bands to grow skills, increase their knowledge bases, and hone their problem-solving, team-building and leadership skills, camp organizers said. High waters at the Chippewa River

The Chippewa River experienced high waters Tuesday through Wednesday, July 10. Heavy rainfall was caused by Hurricane Beryl, which hit the Gulf Coast and made landfall in Texas Monday. The National Weather Service station in Alma recorded a half-inch of rain Tuesday night alone, and the forecast for the coming weekend calls for showers and thunderstorms nightly through Monday. Isabella County fair Family Fun Day and Fundraiser

A midday storm couldn’t dampen the spirits of more than 50 volunteers and a few dozen families who descended on the Isabella County Fairgrounds Saturday, June 22, for the Isabella County Youth & Farm Fair Family Fun Day Fundraiser. The annual celebration of all things agriculture included live animal demonstrations, food, cupcake decoration, games, make-and-take crafts, live music and plenty of smiles for all ages. The event is intended to raise money for renovations and maintenance to the 42-year-old fairgrounds on the northern edge of town, while simultaneously educating children and parents about the many different facets of agriculture, art, athletics and home economics the annual expo showcases.

Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies

More than 2,500 athletes from across Michigan marched onto Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium Thursday, May 30, for the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Special Olympics Michigan State Summer Games. The games comprised 90 contests, ranging from bocce ball to powerlifting, and celebrated friendship, inclusion and athletics at the highest level. The ceremonies included the presentation of the colors, an introduction of each area, speeches, music and the ceremonial lighting of the olympic torch by participating athletes and members of Law Enforcement Torch Run. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the games.

Central Michigan Police tactical driving exam

A dozen members of the Central Michigan University Police Department's road patrol underwent recertification testing the week of May 20 in Lot 63 outside of Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The four-part test is designed to showcase officers' decision making, reflexes, evasive-driving skills and focus amid multiple distractions at high speeds in both forward and reverse. CMU Baseball vs Western Michigan University game 3 season closer

The CMU baseball season comes to an end after a tough, 10-0, loss against Western Michigan University. The game was called after seven innings on the run rule on Saturday, May 18, in Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium. CMU finishes the season 17-38 overall, and 8-22 in the Mid-American Conference. CMU Lacrosse vs Detroit Mercy

Central Michigan's women's lacrosse team fell to the University of Detroit Mercy 10-11 in game one of the MAC Tournament, Thursday, May 2, at the CMU Lacrosse Complex. Junior attack Skye DePrado led CMU's offense, scoring five points. CMU ends its season with an overall record of 5-13.

CMU baseball vs University Akron Game 1

The Central Michigan University Chippewas raised awareness for prostate cancer during their opener of a three game baseball series against University of Akron, Friday, May 3, in Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium. The team fell short to Akron with a final score of 4-7.
