Veterans Day is a time to remember those who have fought for this country. Each year, we set aside time to honor the troops who have waged war in the pursuit of protecting our freedom and democracy. We're thankful that at Central Michigan University, that spirit is not lost. We're also proud of our student leaders, faculty members and administrators who help facilitate activities around campus on this day of remembrance.

President Ross
emphasized Tuesday in his State of the University Address that Michigan is
suffering from crippling population decline, especially a decrease in the number of
graduating high school seniors. According to university projections, this
decline could cause Central Michigan University’s on-campus enrollment to drop
to 17, 500 students by 2020.

survivors of breast cancer. Today – the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness
Month- we celebrate those who have persevered through the disease and we extend
an empathetic hand to those fighting it.

Hearing a family member has breast cancer is one of the scariest moments a person can experience. It doesn’t matter the age or how the family member is related to you, it still comes as a shock and an overwhelming sense of sadness.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in middle school. Some may say I was too young at the time to fully grasp what was happening, and I would have to agree with them. But I would also say it was something that has left an impact on my family.
