I sat on the edge of my bed, one hand grabbing my chest to hold my broken heart together, the other catching hot tears as they fell from my face. It was the Sunday before CM Life left for a convention in Texas and I had just found that out my grandma had passed. Two nights before, I had made it back home from my baby cousin’s funeral. I held his tiny body for the first time at my uncle’s funeral two months prior to that in January.
For the more than 3,100 Chippewas who will become Central Michigan University Alumni on May 6, we want you to know one thing: This is just the beginning.

Sure, the Central Michigan football team didn't have one of it’s most memorable campaigns last season.The Chippewas finished with a final record of 6-7 after being completely demolished by Tulsa, 55-10, in the Miami Beach Bowl on Dec. 19.CMU started the season showing promise at 3-0, however, and made one of the most memorable college football plays to beat Oklahoma State at Boone-Pickens Stadium 30-27. It gave the 2016 Chippewas something to be remembered by.Junior wide receiver Corey Willis received a pitch from senior tight end Jesse Kroll, who caught the deep pass from senior quarterback Cooper Rush for one of the craziest scoring scenarios fans had ever witnessed.However, the play shouldn't have counted.
For the past two decades, states and cities across America have legalized the use of marijuana for not only medical use, but recreational purposes. Despite those changes on the local and state level, the federal government continues to categorize marijuana as a Schedule I drug.
