Flood aid: CMU volunteers needed

The Isabella County Emergency Operations Center is looking for Central Michigan University volunteers to help in their efforts to aid members of the community who were affected by flooding.

After a June 23 thunderstorm left Isabella County in a state of emergency, the operations center is seeking 20-25 CMU students, faculty and staff to help provide different services at multiple locations in the community.

Those who are interested in volunteering are asked to call the operations center at 989-779-1454. To help with coordination, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to identify themselves as a CMU volunteer. Questions about volunteer locations and the types of services needed can be answered during the phone call.

For more information and to help further spread the message to others who may be interested in volunteering, visit the Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center's Facebook page.
