Central Michigan center Steve Eipper has been named to the Rimington Trophy watch list.

The Rimington Trophy awards the top center in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), and the winner will be recognized in January 2020.

Eipper, a Greenville native, is one of 80 nominees throughout the country and one of eight representatives from the Mid-American Conference.

The 6-foot-4, 286-pound senior has been a starter throughout the CMU offensive line in the last two seasons, primarily at center. He said at MAC Media Day that playing on the offensive line at CMU is a great honor.

"Central has a great history of offensive lineman and being able to play on the line is pretty special," Eipper said Tuesday. "It's really awesome and we have a great group of guys coming back, young guys looking to prove themselves, it'll be fun to watch."

Eipper will lead the offensive line into the Chippewas' season opener against Albany on Aug. 29.
