Central Michigan has secured its second running back in the 2020 class.

From North Brunswick, New Jersey, three-star running back Myles Bailey announced his commitment to the Chippewas.

"I believe I can develop my skills and not only become a great player but a great person," Bailey said. "CMU preaches family, and that's all I'm about coming from a school that preaches togetherness."

The 6-foot, 180-pound back held other offers from Massachusetts, Old Dominion, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Boston College, Kent State, Minnesota, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Elon.

"I knew this was what I wanted when I stepped foot on campus and talked to the coaches," Bailey said. "I really think this is the place for me, and I know I'll do big things at CMU."

Bailey is ranked as the No. 1,862 player in the nation along with being the No. 114 running back and 42nd-best player in New Jersey, according to the 247Sports Composite.

He helped North Brunswick to a 9-2 record in the 2019 season, along with a No. 1 seed in the NJSIAA Central Group 5 playoff bracket. The Raiders were defeated, 41-25, in the semifinals against No. 5 Cherokee.

"Honestly, CMU reminds me of home," Bailey said, "and I'm just excited to ball out with my future teammates and build great bonds with the coaches and players."

Announcing his decision Tuesday, Bailey cemented himself in the 2020 class along with future running back teammate Marion Lukes from Charlestown, Indiana.

The early signing period runs from Dec. 18-20, and Bailey plans to sign his letter of intent at that time.

"If I grind and put the work in and focus on what I need to do to get on that field, I believe I can make a huge impact early," Bailey said. "It all starts in the weight room and at practice."

Central Michigan will have four other players from New Jersey – quarterback George Pearson (Mater Dei High School), running back Josh Crawford (Montclair High School), defensive back Moe Kosso (Plainfield High School) and wide receiver Zahir Swann (Irvington High School) on the roster next season.

Bailey is the 20th commit in CMU's 2020 class:
