Central Michigan Community Hospital changes name to McLaren Central Michigan
Central Michigan Community Hospital has changed its name to McLaren Central Michigan to incorporate the McLaren Health Care plan.
The hospital's board of directors chose the new name to tie in the McLaren Health Care identity, while retaining the central Michigan location.
“It’s exciting, and an advantage in today’s evolving world of health care, to be part of the McLaren system, one of the largest, strongest and fastest-growing health care families in Michigan,” said Bill Lawrence, President and CEO of McLaren Central Michigan.
The hospital said the McLaren reputation will help the hospital to recruit more doctors and medical providers. The name will provide a stronger sense of treatment and expertise, along with excellent health care.
The merger with McLaren will fund a $7 million Electronic Medical Records system for the hospital, which will allow for faster patient care, easier record accessibility and faster diagnosis and treatments, the news release stated.
“This effort is a testament of our commitment to make individuals healthier and communities stronger," said Philip Incaranti, President and Chief Executive officer of McLaren health care.
