Two charged with stealing almost $2000 worth of synthetic marijuana from downtown Mount Pleasant business


Two men were arrested Wednesday night and charged with breaking, entering and stealing from Downtown Discount,104 N. Main St.

According to a release from the Mount Pleasant Police  Department, an 18-year-old white male and a 21-year-old white male used a brick to break a window and gain entry into the business. The subjects were charged with stealing $1,900 worth of synthetic marijuana and $20 worth of tobacco products.

The suspects were sighted leaving the closed business by an officer on patrol in the downtown area. After a short pursuit, one of the individuals was apprehended.

Both suspects are from the Shepherd area. They are currently being lodged at the Isabella County Jail on charges of Breaking and Entry, Larceny, and Larceny from a Building. Bond was set at $15,000 for  the 18-year-old and 10,000 for the 21-year-old.
