Volleyball opens tournament with 3-0 victory against Campbell

The volleyball team won in three-straight sets Friday against Campbell Univeristy at the N.C. State Invitational.

Central Michigan pushed their record to 5-3 while Campbell’s record dropped to 4-5.

The Chippewas started the match off strong, winning the first game 25-11.

The second game on the night was a little tougher, but CMU stil prevailed with a 25-23 win.

The final game of the match was taken by the Chippewas 26-24

CMU had 42 kills on the night over their opponent. The offense was lead by senior outside hitter Lindsey Dulude, who had 19 kills.

Kelly Maxwell helped propel her offense, assisting in 37 of the 42 points made throughout the night.

Defensively, the Chippewas were lead by sophomore defensive speacialist Jenna Coates, who managed 11 of the 41 digs on the night.
