Lemay wins Atlantic Sun Co-Defensive Player of the Week award


Central Michigan freshman midfielder Jocelyn Lemay was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week after CMU’s 16-4 victory at Gardner-Webb Sunday.

The Peterborough, Ontario native is CMU Lacrosse’s first weekly winner in program history.

At GWU, she scored three goals on four shots. Along with her first career hat trick, Lemay picked up three ground balls and caused a game-high four turnovers.

Whitney Meyers, a Stetson goalie shares the honor with Lemay after the Hatters also earned their first win of the season against Cincinnati.

The Chippewas are now 1-1 in their inaugural season. They travel to Cincinnati for their next game March 6. Their first home game is during Spring Break at 3 p.m. on March 11 against Delaware State.
