Central Michigan University Volleyball Head Coach Mike Gawlik advises the team during a time-out during the CMU vs. Indiana State game in McGuirk Arena on Sept. 8. 

After taking the first match of the day, Central Michigan volleyball fell to Cleveland State in three sets in the second game of the Chippewa Invitational.

Cleveland State (4-3) won the first set 25-20, the second 25-20 and the third 25-21, respectively.

Both teams had runs throughout each set but Cleveland State was able to pull away at the end of each set.

Senior outside hitter Taylor Robertson led the Chippewas with 13 kills on the day. Senior outside hitter Jordan Bueter had twelve kills and led the team with eight digs.

Central Michigan (6-2) returns to action tomorrow at 5 p.m. to finish off the Chippewa Invitational against IUPUI.
