The Washington Area Neighborhood Association is hosting an all-day music festival called Porchfest to showcase local talent on June 10.

The neighborhood-wide event will take place from 1-7 p.m. in the Washington Area neighborhood, between High and Broadway St. The day will end with a final concert and cookout at Potter Park. The entire event is free of charge and all are welcome to attend.

Houses in the neighborhood with large porches volunteer them to act as stages for the festival. This year, 12 artists will be playing at 12 locations throughout the day. For a full schedule and map of the festival, see the picture below.

Eric Chercover, a co-organizer of the event, said Porchfest "highlights how cool the abundance of talent" in the area is. This is the fourth time WANA has hosted the event, and Chercover said he's been surprised by how much people enjoy it.

"It's just a cool, unpretentious community event," he said. "It's unplugged, we try not to be too loud, and it's completely family friendly."

While the festival has only ever showcased musical talent, but Chercover said he would love for the opportunity to showcase "all kinds of art" at next year's Porchfest.
