Central Michigan University will host a charity basketball game as final activity during the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration week.

The basketball game will take place Friday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Student Activities Center Small Sports Forum.

CMU staff members and students will be playing in the basketball game.

"Throughout the MLK week there are plenty of events that will make participants reflect and challenge perceptions," said Wade Tomson, Multicultural Academic Student Services executive secretary. "This event is the steam release event to end a week of really great programs."

The event is free, although donations are accepted. All funds raised will be donated to the CMU Food Pantry.

There will be a three-point game during halftime that costs $1 to participate in.

"This is a purely fun event for students to see their peers or maybe favorite faculty or staff member participate in a game of basketball," Tomson said.

The game is sponsored by the Multicultural Academic Student Services.
