Applications to become a Sexual Aggression Peer Advocate during the 2020/2021 academic school year are due by 5 p.m. Friday.

SAPA is a survivor-centered and trauma-informed, paraprofessional student organization that serves those affected by sexual aggression through 24/7 services during the fall and spring semesters, including a confidential support line, online chat service and direct in-person services.

Services are available to CMU students, faculty, staff and the community.

Time commitment consists of 56 hours of training in the fall semester broken up into two weekends. In addition to being on call, SAPAs must complete 15 additional hours of support and continuing education.

Applicants must be a CMU student or transferring to CMU by the fall of the following academic year. A one-year commitment is required, but a two-year commitment is strongly preferred.

Please email the application to sapa@cmich.edu or place the application in a sealed envelope and provide it to any current SAPA member or to the Office of Student Affairs located in Ronan 290.
