Benjamin Herbert, SGA Recruitment Chair, speaks about the roles of house representatives over WebEx on Sept. 28, 2020.

Students in Central Michigan University's Student Government Association focused on working on their committees' projects during their meeting on Sept. 28, 2020.

SGA's Special Events Committee introduced a possibility to work with the HallieStrong Foundation, and other committees researched and drafted legislation. There was no new or old business in both the House and Senate.

The HallieStrong Foundation, a non-profit committed to giving socks to people with cancer, reached out to the  Special Events Committee to figure out the logistics of a possible sock drive in the coming weeks.

"(The founder, Bethany William,) knows she wants to do the sock drive in this month of October, but she's not exactly sure how she's going to go about it yet," Lee Ringlever, Special Events committee chair, said.

The possible drive is to help with Socktober, a national fundraising and drive event centered around collecting 10,000 socks to donate.

Both the House and the Senate did not tackle any new or old business this week, though committees such as Outreach and Academic Affairs are currently researching and drafting legislation such as Outreach’s subtitle legislation.
