Central Michigan freshman kicker Marshall Meeder earned Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his performance in the Chippewas Nov. 11 40-10 victory over Northern Illinois.

Meeder, an Eaton Rapids freshman, made all five of his extra point attempts in the win and also hit a career-long 40-yard field goal. On the season, Meeder is 8-of-9 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals. He has also kicked off 13 times, forcing two touchbacks and averaging 59 yards per kick.

Meeder is the second consecutive Chippewa to win the award in the MAC West. Last week, redshirt freshman punter Luke Elzinga won the award for his performance in CMU's season-opening win over Ohio.

The Chippewas (2-0) will take on Western Michigan (2-0) at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
