Central Michigan's men's basketball program released its 2020-21 season schedule Nov. 23, announcing a 26-game schedule that features six non-conference games.

The season is scheduled to open Nov. 25, with the Chippewas hosting Trine of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

The Chippewas' season opener against the Thunder is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m. in McGuirk Arena. Following the season opener, CMU will hit the road for four straight games at Illinois-Chicago on Nov. 28, a two day multi-team event featuring a game against Florida International on Dec. 1 and a tilt with a to-be-determined opponent the following day. Then, the Chippewas have a game at Western Illinois on Dec. 6.

CMU's nonconference portion of the season ends with a home game against Valparaiso on Dec. 12. CMU plays its first Mid-American Conference game on Dec. 22 at Western Michigan, and has its first conference home game on Jan. 2 against Miami (Ohio).

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic causing shuffling throughout the college basketball landscape, CMU and coach Keno Davis had games against Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Butler, Arkansas State and Tulane lined up. Now, with the pandemic causing scheduling to be more regionalized, the Chippewas were forced to make some adjustments.

"We're trying to limit the amount of travel in order to keep our players as healthy as possible during these times," Davis said in a press release. "We're excited about the season starting. The guys have been working very hard in practice and we're looking forward to the season."

A television broadcast schedule has yet to be announced.
