Freshman offensive line Danny Motowski celebrates sophomore wide receiver Kalil Pimpleton's touchdown for the Chippewas at Kelly Shorts stadium on Thursday, August 29.

CMU will be down two starters and potentially a third going into its Dec. 12 regular season final at Toledo.

Chippewa coach Jim McElwain said junior wide receiver Dallas Dixon, who missed the Dec. 5 game against Ball State, will be out along with starting offensive guard, sophomore Danny Motowski, who was helped to the locker room at halftime of the matchup with the Cardinals. Motowski did not return to action.

In losing Motowski, the Chippewas will be down another starter on the offensive line. Junior right tackle Luke Goedeke underwent season-ending knee surgery prior to the season opener. Junior left tackle Bernhard Raimann suffered an ankle injury against Ball State, and right tackle Deiyantei Powell-Woods missed the game, however McElwain said both Raimann and Powell-Woods should be good to go against the Rockets.

At quarterback, McElwain announced junior Ty Brock as the prospective starter heading into the finale. Redshirt freshman Daniel Richardson, who started the season's first four games before being carted off with an injury against Eastern Michigan, dressed last week and will do the same against Toledo.

Richardson's role will depend on how much he's able to practice, McElwain said. Sophomore John Keller dressed for the first time last week, and McElwain said that players such as junior wide receiver Kalil Pimpleton, senior running back Kobe Lewis and junior running back Darius Bracy will be ready for their respective wildcat packages.

McElwain did not mention any injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Senior Alonzo McCoy was injured against Ball State but returned to the game last week after suffering an injury.

The Chippewas and Rockets kick off at 3 p.m. on Dec. 12 from the Glass Bowl in Toledo, Ohio. The game will be shown on ESPN3.
