As part of the on-going series "Conversations That Matter"  the Office of Diversity Education will be hosting “The Political and Commercial Impact of Female Sexuality” at 6-7:30 p.m. March 25.

The Zoom event will open with a brief introduction to the topic by Lisa Winchell-Caldwell, the deputy director at Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Attendees will be broken into discussion groups led by facilitators trained in intergroup dialogue. These facilitators will be a mix of faculty and students.

The groups will work on creating a dialogue around topics they may not agree on or have full understanding of, said Nikita Murry, director of the Office of Diversity Education.

“Hopefully we will learn to be better advocates around women's issues,” Murry said. “And along with that, hopefully, we will be in a position to not judge and to listen, to truly listen to our girls and women to understand where they are coming from.”

Attendees must register for the event via a GoogleForms survey to receive the Zoom link.

Any questions about the event can be directed to the Office of Diversity Education at 989-774-3700.
