Although he didn’t receive a call during the 2022 NFL Draft, former Central Michigan cornerback Dishon McNary will join the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent.

According to NFL Draft Buzz, McNary was ranked as the No. 54 cornerback prospect prior to the draft.

After an ankle injury ended his 2021 campaign, McNary declared for the draft on Dec. 22, 2021.

McNary began his collegiate career at Independence Community College during the reign of head coach Jason Brown. During his time at ICC, McNary recorded 28 tackles, two sacks and 10 pass breakups.

Once he left ICC, McNary joined the CMU football team. But missing a portion of the 2019 season, forced him to wait until 2020 to make his mark. McNary started all six games in the shortened season, recording 26 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and snagging his first career interception, earning him first-team All-MAC honors from Pro Football Focus.

Entering the 2021 season, McNary was named as a member of the Phil Steele All-MAC first team. Before his injury against FIU, he recorded 15 total tackles and four pass breakups.
