Central Michigan soccer has unveiled its 2022 schedule.

The Chippewas will play 19 games, starting with the season opener Aug. 12 at Illinois-Chicago. After a second straight on the road, with the second being played Aug. 18 at Morehead State, CMU will play its home opener Aug. 21 against Marquette.

A trip to East Lansing to take on Michigan State is scheduled for Aug. 25, and a road matchup at Wright State is slated for Aug. 28. Following that road swing, the Chippewas will play three straight at home.

First is a tilt with Detroit Mercy (Sept. 1), followed by a matchup with Michigan (Sept. 4). Concluding the homestead and the non-conference schedule is a game against Eastern Illinois (Sept. 11).

CMU begins Mid-American Conference play with a trip to Eastern Michigan on Sept. 22 before playing its first conference home game Sept. 25 against Miami (Ohio). It has a second straight home game scheduled for Sept. 29 against Bowling Green.

The Chippewas have two straight on the road following the Bowling Green game, as trips to Northern Illinois (Oct. 2) and Western Michigan (Oct. 6) await. CMU will then return home for games against Toledo (Oct. 9) and Ohio (Oct. 13).

Groves' team will play two more road games, at Akron (Oct. 16) and Buffalo (Oct. 20), before finishing the regular season with two home games. The Chippewas host Kent State (Oct. 23) before concluding the campaign with a matchup against Ball State on Oct. 27.

The MAC Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 30-Nov. 6. The Chippewas made the conference tourney a year ago, falling to Buffalo in double overtime during the quarterfinal round.
