Central Michigan University student organization, Black Girls Rock, will be hosting “Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader?” Black Girls Rock edition from 6 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Bovee University Center, room 108.

Aaliyah Howard, a Black Girls Rock event coordinator, said the participants of the event will be competing against the Black Girls Rock E-board members. Howard said the questions and topics of the trivia remain unknown.

Howard said the idea of the event was brought up by one of the E-board members when the group was brainstorming what kind of game show they want to organize.

According to TV Guide’s website, “Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader?” is an American television game show that was on from 2007 to 2018. The show was produced by Mark Burnett and hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.

"I am hoping that everyone has fun time, (and) that we have a good turnout," Howard said.

As a newly founded organization on campus, since the beginning of this semester, Black Girls Rock welcomes making connections on campus, Howard said.

"If you are a Black girl on campus, if you want to further your connections... this (Black Girls Rock) is a place to be," Howard said.
