After one year with Central Michigan women’s basketball, freshman guard Bridget Utberg announced that she will be entering the transfer portal, making her the fourth player on the 2022-23 roster to enter.

Utberg announced the news on her Instagram on Monday, saying that she will enter “due to the unexpected coaching changes at CMU.”

Coming out of Canton, Georgia, Utberg led the team at the point guard position during her freshman campaign, starting in 23 games and averaging 34.7 minutes a game.

In her first year with CMU, Utberg ranked second in scoring with 12.5 points per game and had a team-leading 2.5 assists a game, earning her Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team.

Utberg joins freshman guard Sydney Harris, sophomore guard Tiana Timpe and sophomore guard Lisa Tesson in the list that have entered the portal.
