Khatera walks to the bus stop on October 29, 2015. As an 8-year-old in Afghanistan, Khatera had difficulty passing the third grade because of the education system. When they moved to Michigan, she was placed in sixth grade and is excelling in her education. "It was the education system, they didn't know how to handle her," says Ezatullah. "I want to be a teacher," says Khatera.
