Max and Emily's releases lineup for ninth annual summer concert series

Max and Emily's Eatery recently announced the lineup for its annual summer concert series, which will take place in front of the restaurant on the corner of Broadway and University Street.

The series opens on Thursday, June 29 with country artist Brandon Ray taking the stage in Mt. Pleasant for the first time. All shows this year will begin with an opening act starting at 6 p.m., followed by the headliner.

Pianist and singer Kelley Hunt will perform on Thursday, July 13. The following week on July 20, the Saucecats will play their last show together from the Max and Emily's stage.

East Lansing's The Verve Pipe will take the stage on August 17. Since their last performance in Mt. Pleasant, the rock band released a children’s album, "Are We There Yet?" as well as two rock albums, "Overboard" and "Villains." Members of The Verve Pipe will meet with Partners Empowering All Kids (PEAK) students during their visit to teach hands on examples in making music.

Central Michigan University School of Music alumnus Joe Hertler and his band The Rainbow Seekers will close the summer concert series on Saturday, August 26. The band is out on tour in support of their third album, "Pluto." Daryl and the Beans — a band made up of three CMU English professors — will be the opening act for The Rainbow Seekers.
