Armed robbery reported at Empty Keg Party Store, suspect unknown

Mount Pleasant Police Department officers are still looking for a suspect accused of robbing the Empty Keg Party Store located at 122 E. Pickard Street on the night of Oct. 6.

According to a press release, the suspect was described to police as a male with a "dark complexion," wearing a light gray hooded-sweatshirt, black basketball shorts and tan shoes, between 5-foot-8-inches and 6 feet tall.

The suspect entered the store to tell the clerk about a "disturbance" outside. After the clerk exited the store with the suspect, the suspect displayed a handgun and ordered the clerk back into the store to retrieve money from the cash register, the press release states.

The suspect fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash. 

Officers responded to the call shortly after 10:44 p.m., canvasing the area with assistance from a Michigan State Police K-9 unit.

Other businesses in the area were made aware of the situation and advised to contact Isabella County Central Dispatch if anyone matching the suspect's description came into their business, the press release states. Anyone with information that could help the ongoing investigation is encouraged to call the police department "TIP Line" at (989)779-9111.
