"Par for the Cause” celebrity charity golf tournament tees off Friday.

This Friday, Soaring Eagle Properties and the RCH racing team will host a celebrity charity golf tournament for competitors of all skill levels at Pohlcat Golf Course.The event, “Par for the Cause” will be splitting its proceedings to two non-profit organizations: the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe Youth LEAD program as well as The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund.To date, corporate and general public participants have raised over $31,000 for the causes.Noted celebrities scheduled to make an appearance at the event include RCH Racing’s Weston Peick, Carey Hart and Broc Tickle; The Huge Show’s Bill Simonson; and former NFL player Stuart Schweigert.Participants in the event will receive a raffle prize, one of which includes airfare, hotel accommodations and a Las Vegas trip for four to watch the Motocross finals on October 18th, provided by Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.Registration fees are $600 per foursome.

West Branch man charged with kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment

A 52-year-old West Branch man who crashed into a house in Mount Pleasant on July 13 was arraigned Thursday morning on multiple charges.James Elroy Denton was arraigned this morning on charges of kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, criminal sexual conduct, fleeing and eluding, carrying a concealed weapon, stalking and operating a vehicle while under the influence.Most of the charges listed are consider felonies.
