CMU student Amy Marie Gehring passes away


Amy Marie "Fish" Gehring passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 10, at Central Michigan Community Hospital at the age of 37.

Amy was born on August 23, 1974, in Alma to Durane and Beverly (Hooker) Fish. She graduated from Alma High School and worked for Central Michigan University in the Health and Safety Department. On April 19, 2008, Amy married Tom Gehring at the Community Baptist Church in Alma. Amy was pursuing a degree in social work form Central Michigan University.

Amy is survived by her husband, Tom of Mount Pleasant; her mother and farther, Beverly Winn of Elm Hall and Duane Fish of Sumner; siblings, Darren Fish of Alma and Kelly Jo O'Neill of Montague; and her children, Summer Cotsman, Brysen Chamberlin-Fish, Forrest Gehring, Nolan Gehring, and Roman Gehring, all of Mount Pleasant.

Amy was preceded in death by her daughter, Sierra Marie Cotsman.

A Celebration of Remembrance was held on Tuesday, May 15, at the Victory Christian Center. Visitation was held at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home on May 14. Memorial contributions can be made to Love, Inc.
