Central Michigan will be keeping another talented defensive lineman in-state.

River Rouge 3-star defensive tackle Pius Odjugo announced his commitment to play for the Chippewas on Sunday via Twitter. Odjugo, who was part of the Panthers' 2019 MHSAA Division 3 state championship team, also held offers from Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, Bowling Green and Morgan State. He becomes the ninth member of Central Michigan's 2021 recruiting class.

Odjugo weighs in at 6-foot-3 and 324 pounds. He currently holds a .8204 247 composite rating on 247 Sports and is listed as the 45th best player in the state of Michigan. He is the first defensive line commit for the Chippewas' 2021 class and is the fourth highest rank, behind RB/S DJ Stepney, WR/CB Eric Reese and ILB Diego Neri.

At River Rouge, Odjugo was part of a defense that allowed an average of 8.2 points per game over the course of the 2019 season, a season that saw the Panthers finish 12-1 and win the state championship game.

In the state championship game, a 30-7 victory over top-ranked Muskegon, Odjugo played a key role in slowing down the Big Reds' star quarterback Cameron Martinez, a two-time winner of Michigan's Mr. Football award, who will play at Ohio State.

Central Michigan's 2021 recruiting class currently includes:

Macomb Dakota HS 3-star RB/S DJ Stepney
