David Moore's college football career is over.

Moore announced on Dec. 23 on Twitter he would forgo his senior season at Central Michigan in order to prepare for the NFL Draft.

On Dec. 18, Moore won an appeal regarding a second suspension after a positive test for a banned substance by the NCAA. He missed the final six games of the 2019 season and all six games in 2020 due to suspension.

"First I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability and opportunity, my family and friends for support, and the Chippewas nation for accepting me out of JUCO," Moore wrote. "I want to say thank you for being with me on my long journey! Due to uncertainty regarding my eligibility for next season, including getting a waiver from the NCAA for an extra year, I have decided to forgo my senior season and prepare for the NFL draft. ... While my time has been short it has been sweet and I wouldn't trade my Chippewa family."

In six games at CMU, Moore was 94-of-164 passing for 1,143 yards to go with five touchdowns and four interceptions. He also scored one rushing TD for the Chippewas.

In the shortened, six-game 2020 season, the Chippewas utilized redshirt freshman Daniel Richardson as the starter until he was injured at Eastern Michigan on Nov. 27. Then, redshirt junior Ty Brock took over as the starter.

CMU signed two new quarterbacks during the early signing period -- Jacob Sirmon, a junior transfer from Washington, and freshman Jase Bauer.
