Deschon Winston has found a new home for his college basketball future.

After spending a year at California-Berkley, a year at the City College of San Francisco and a third at Central Michigan, Winston has committed to play at La Salle University in the Philippines. The news was first reported by The Tiebreaker Times.

In his one season at CMU, Winston played 32 games with seven starts. He averaged 5.9 points per game, along with 2.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds. He served as a backup and spot starter for Devontae Lane.

Winston opted out of the 2020-21, electing to remain in his home state of California and not return to campus. Upon opting out, he entered the transfer portal. Without Winston, CMU relied on the point guard trio of Lane, sophomore PJ Mitchell and freshman Ra'Shad Weekly-McDaniels to handle the point guard duties.

Winston will have two years of eligibility remaining thanks to the extra year given due to the coronavirus.
