Petoskey sophomore tight end Joel Wilson (left) and Detroit redshirt freshman running back Lew Nichols III celebrate a Central Michigan touchdown against Western Michigan on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Waldo Stadium.

For the second week in a row, Lew Nichols has earned a weekly honor from the Mid-American Conference.

Nichols was named co-offensive player of the week in the MAC West Division, splitting the award with  Toledo running back Bryant Koback. Central Michigan's running back earned the recognition after a second-consecutive career-high performance, rushing for 219 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-17 triumph over Ball State.

In the win, he scored a 66-yard touchdown that tied a season-long. The three scores gave him 14 on the year. He also went over 2,000 career rushing yards.

The Detroit native now leads the country in rushing yards with 1,516 and is second in all-purpose yards with 1,777. He's third in CMU history for single-season rushing yards, with Silas Massey's 1,544 in second place.

Nichols and CMU host Eastern Michigan in the regular season finale at noon Nov. 26.
