With less than two minutes left in the game, Central Michigan University junior attacker Anna Farrar shot the final score of the game. Freshman attacker Mia Bradley passed the ball to Farrar to finish off the game.
Throughout the fourth quarter, the University of Michigan continued its shooting streak.
CMU lost the game 23-3 to the Wolverines. This marked the sixth loss in a row for CMU, to move its record to 0-6.
"I think through all the adversity, they brought it today," interim coach Katie Vahle said. "Super proud of that."
Vahle took over as head coach after the previous coach, Emilia Ward, stepped down earlier this week.
Central Michigan's freshman goalkeeper Abby Schroer stepped in during the fourth quarter.
"She's done well every single game she stepped into," Vahle said. "She learns a lot from Leila, so I think that's a huge part of her purpose."
Just three minutes into the third quarter, Michigan's junior attacker Stella Nolan scored a goal on a free position shot.
Nolan scored another goal just minutes later, with an assist from junior midfielder Isabel DiNanno.
Afterwards, Michigan's freshman midfielder Lee Kestner received a free position shot after a foul from CMU's freshman midfield/defender Marisa Rosner.
Kestner shot the ball, which bounced off the ground and ended up in the net. The score moved to 17-2 for Michigan.
CMU had eight shots throughout the game, five of which were on goal.
The Chippewas' three points were all scored by Farrar, a career high for the junior.
"Anna is a huge leader for the team, I think a lot of the girls look up to her," Vahle said. "She knows, when she has the ball, everyone trusts her."
CMU will take on Butler University on March 8, on the road in Indianapolis.
