How graduating seniors can make the most of their remaining weeks at CMU

(04/22/18 1:46pm)

Well, seniors, our time has come. After endless hours in Charles V. Park Library, hundreds of mind-numbing pages written for research papers and more trips to Wayside Central than we’d care to admit, graduation is right around the corner.  We only have about three weeks left of our college careers before we head out into a world that is far scarier. I don’t know about you, but the thought of this makes me want to soak up as many memories as I can over the next few weeks. Below is a list of ways we can make our last moments at Central Michigan University count.

Perfecting the Art of Dartying

(03/14/18 3:44pm)

If there’s one thing you learn in college quickly, it’s the value of a good darty. Not many things can top a sunny weekend with some friends and pretending like you have no responsibilities. It’s not all fun and games, though. Dartying is an art and takes a lot of skill to master. Here are some steps you can take on your path to dartying enlightenment. (To those who spend their time hiding under rocks: darty = day + party.)

Yeah, buddy! DJ Pauly D is coming to Mount Pleasant

(02/16/18 1:07pm)

Mount Pleasant’s beloved bar and club Wayside Central recently announced they are bringing DJ Pauly D for a show this March. In fact, tickets sold out so quickly that they booked DJ Pauly D for another night. People aren’t just excited to hear what kind of tracks Pauly D lays down, but also because he was one of the stars of the reality television show “Jersey Shore.” On the show, Pauly D was known for his quick wit and his way of finessing the ladies.  After binge-watching one (or twenty) too many episodes, I compiled a list of some of Pauly D’s iconic lines and how you can incorporate them into your own life.

Valentine's Day date night ideas to consider and avoid

(02/13/18 2:11pm)

Candy hearts, red roses and stuffed bears have become commercialized symbols of Valentine’s Day, however, there’s one timeless trend that has remained consistent over the years: dates. As a female college student, I’ve had my fair share of dates; some have been great, others not so much. Valentine’s Day is the chance to show your significant other how much they mean to you, and where you take them out reflects a lot about you. Actions will always trump words, so show your date how much you care about them with a few simple date ideas to consider… and ones to avoid.

Five Things You Didn’t Know About Jesse McCartney

(01/22/18 3:36pm)

Since CMU Program Board announced they are bringing Jesse McCartney to CMU for their spring concert, students have been buzzing with excitement and questions. While some students are excited to hear music from their tween years, others are left asking why him? Some are saying they did not realize he was still alive. McCartney is certainly alive, and there’s more to him than just his “beautiful soul”. Here’s five things you probably didn’t know about McCartney.

(01/16/18 2:38pm)

Let’s face it, Mount Pleasant is relatively a small town and there’s not always a lot to do for fun. When looking to do something out on the town, most college students turn to the bars or seek out the nearest party, often looking over seeing a movie. While going to the movies can be pricey for college students, the Mount Pleasant Celebration Cinema offers $6 movie tickets on Tuesdays as well as discounts on food and beverages. That being said, here are 10 movies coming out in 2018 and why they should be at the top of your must-see list.
