There were 10 awards presented at the Student Government Association Presidential Inauguration on Monday, April 24. The Presidential Inauguration took place in the Powers Ballroom at 7 p.m.“I am beyond thankful to be apart of this wonderful organization with all of these amazing and hard working individuals,” said 2016-17 academic year SGA President Jazmin Biernat.The awards presented are the following: Academic Affairs Outstanding Committee Member of the YearDiversity Outstanding Committee Member of the YearGovernmental Affairs Outstanding Committee Member of the YearRSO Growth & Development Outstanding Committee Member of the YearSpirits and Traditions Outstanding Committee Member of the YearSustainability Outstanding Committee Member of the YearOutstanding House MemberOutstanding Senate MemberCharles Mahone II Award Presidential Recognition AwardOnce the awards were given out, a buffet was served for dinner.One by one, the new senators, treasurer, president and vice president took the stage for the swearing-in ceremony.“I’m really, truly excited for these group of students to be supported and lead SGA next year, and subsequently the student body,” Biernat said.
